A subdomain is a web address, that is under a main, or a root domain. An illustration is something.domain.com, where domain.com is the main domain name, while "something" is the subdomain below it. Each and every subdomain can have its own site and records i.e. apart from using the domain name as part of the whole web address, a subdomain can be entirely independent and even hosted by a separate provider. Employing a subdomain can be quite useful if you'd like to have different websites that are related in some way. As an example, you may have an on-line store under the main domain plus a forum under a subdomain in order to offer means for your clients to ask questions and / or share views about your products. The benefit of using a subdomain instead of a subfolder is that the websites will be separated, so you can update one of them or perform maintenance not affecting the other.

Subdomains in Cloud Hosting

Our cloud hosting packages will enable you to create countless subdomains for every domain name hosted in your account without any difficulty. Assuming that the main domain is added, it will take 2 clicks to create a subdomain and choose what folder it'll open (if different from the default one), set custom error pages, activate FrontPage Extensions, set a shared IP address or a dedicated one, and much more. All subdomains will be conveniently listed in alphabetical order under their main domain for quick access and administration. By right-clicking on any one of them and by using quick access buttons you can view the error logs, visitor statistics or site files for that particular subdomain. We have not set a restriction for the total number of subdomains which you can create with any of our plans, so you can have as many as you wish.
